Certain non-personal records (e.g. anonymised transaction logs required for legal or regulatory compliance) may be retained for up to 90 days as required by applicable law, after which they are also purged.
Once you confirm account deletion — either through the app or via an approved email request — the process begins immediately. Your account will be deactivated right away, meaning it will no longer be visible to other users.
All personal data is permanently deleted from our servers and backups within 30 days of the deletion request being confirmed.
During the 30-day window your account is inactive and inaccessible. If you change your mind before the 30 days elapse, contact us at support@buyit.ng to request a cancellation. After 30 days, recovery is not possible.
If you are unable to access the app, you can submit a deletion request by email. Our support team will verify your identity and process the request within 3–5 business days of confirmation.
- Send the email from the address registered to your Buyit account
- Our team will send a verification reply before proceeding
- Deletion will be confirmed by email once complete
- Allow up to 30 days for all data to be fully removed from our systems
Please read carefully before proceeding with account deletion.
- All your business listings will be removed and no longer visible to buyers
- Active conversations will be deleted and counterparties notified that the account no longer exists
- Your username and profile URL will be released and may be taken by another user
- You will need to create a new account if you wish to use Buyit again
